well, hello there!

Let’s do a quick Q&A! Here’s a little bit about me:

Q: Where are you from?

A: Well, there’s two answers to that…

I was born in Birmingham, AL and spent the first few years of my life there. When I was 7, I moved to a comparably small town called Princeton, MO. Eventually, I just spent summers and holidays “back home” in a little town called Remlap, AL. From second grade to senior year of high school, I was raised in Princeton so I call both home. Every now and then the southern accent makes an appearance. ;)

Q: How long have you been a photographer?

A: About 8 years!

My senior year of high school I took a serious interest in photography and actually job shadowed the photographer that took my senior portraits! That Christmas, I received my first DSLR (Canon Rebel, of course!) I then started a small photography business as a “side hustle” through college. I took a lot of online courses, and I even took some digital photography courses in college. In July of 2021, I quit my 9-5 office job and took my business full time! It’s still one of the greatest decisions I ever made!

Q: What makes you different from other wedding photographers?

A: It’s all in the way I love my clients!

It’s very common, especially in the world of wedding photography, for some photographers to feel cold, aloof or have that “you’re lucky to be working with me” energy. While I do believe my work and time are valuable, I am a people-lover at heart. For me, it’s all about making my clients feel like the most beautiful, confident, cool people on the planet (because they are!) I want you to know that I feel lucky to work with YOU! I take great pride in giving you quality art and quality service. It’s all about the good energy! When your photographer is having fun, they’ll make sure you’re having fun too!

Oh hey, it’s me! :)

Q: Do you have working relationships with any other wedding vendors?

A: Absolutely!

As someone who has been a client to several incredible wedding vendors in Kansas City, I have built incredible relationships and am always glad to share their information with you! I can share recommendations from personal and professional experiences. As a photographer, I’ve connected with a lot of incredible individuals and organizations through the weddings I’ve worked. I’m always happy to help my clients with any questions they may have about their wedding day - even if they aren’t photography-related!

Q: What is your favorite part of a Wedding day?

A: I have to pick just one?

Ok, ok. In all seriousness, it’s gotta be a tie between when I first arrive and get to meet the whole crew or helping hype up/calm down my couples right before the ceremony begins. I love the energy and excitement with the wedding party/couple realizes I’ve arrived to start documenting the day! And it’s such a cool & intimate time right before the ceremony starts. Emotions are high and I live for it! With your wedding day being such an intimate and emotional day, you get to see people at their very best and you get to know each other quickly! I always say I feel like I leave each wedding with a new group of friends. :)

Q: Are You an inclusive photographer?

A: I wouldn’t wanna be anything else!

I’ve had several clients ask me this particular question before booking a session or wedding. I always appreciate and respect their desire for transparency, because that is something I value from my clients as well! I always check in with my clients to confirm if there are any family dynamics, religious practices or physical or neurodiverse considerations that I should be aware of. There is nothing about you that could ever give me a reason to not give you my best. I will always be happy to do the work to make sure that your experience with me is accessible, inclusive, respectful, intentional and FUN!
